Lip Education

We believe it is of the utmost importance to educate our clients about our procedures and process as much as possible. This results in happy clients and all parties ensuring the best results from our procedures. This is particularly important when it comes to pre and aftercare.

It is also hugely important that our clients know what to expect in terms of the results achievable. Results vary from person to person dependant on many factors including skin type, lifestyle (sun exposure, beauty products applied, smoking etc) and of course the crucial pre and aftercare. You will need to take antiviral medication (Aciclovir 400 mg tablets) at least a week before your proposed appointment date. Your GP can prescribe this medication; alternatively you can order it online.

BLUSH FAQ'S

IS LIP BLUSHING PAINFUL?

With all semi-permanent makeup, there may be a level of discomfort. However, due to the anaesthetic used during the procedure, the pain is minimal, and some feel no pain at all. It has been rated as 2-3 out of 10 on the pain scale.

HOW LONG DOES LIP BLUSH LAST?

Lip blush results last from 12 months to 5 years. This all depends on your skin type, lifestyle, and adherence to the aftercare guidelines. Please expect the first colour boost to be needed within 12 months.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FOLLOWING MY  BLUSH APPOINTMENTS?

You may experience moderate swelling and redness, as well as possibly minor bruising. Swelling and redness should subside within 24 hours; if necessary, taking antihistamine such as Zirtec will help (please consult your pharmacist). It is highly likely you will experience a skin shed during the first 7 days as the skin cycle turns over. Once this has occurred, we expect to see a drop in colour by 40–50%. At your top-up session, you can then decide if you wish to enhance the colour and depth further, or if you are happy with the subtle effect.

HOW WILL MY LIP BLUSH PIGMENT COLOUR BE DECIDED?

We stock a wide range of semi-permanent lip pigments. Our range covers the full Fitzpatrick scale (skin tone scale) and includes shades to suit all skin undertones and overtones. You can either match the pigment to your daily lip colour, or we can use the inside of your lip tissue as a colour guide for your skin undertones and advise on the most suitable match for you. Don’t forget, we conduct all sessions in two stages, so you can always deepen and intensify your shade during your top-up session.
