Achieving the best brows

How to get the Best Brows

Skin eduction - what brow are you suitable for?

Skin type breakdown - Oily skin is naturally more hydrated and supple. It tends to age very nicely however excess oil may clog pores more quickly. Very oily skin is also prone to larger pores.

Suitability - Oils can impact pigment the retention of pigment in the skin, this leads to quicker fading, especially with hair strokes. If you have oily skin you can still get your brows done, don't worry there! You may just need a more robust technique like Airbrush Powder Tint Effect brows to get the longevity and results your desire.

Oily

DRY

Skin type breakdown - You have dry skin if your pores are nearly invisible, and your skin often feels tight and in need of moisturiser. You may also notice some flaking from time to time.

Suitability - As you can imaging this is the opposite to oily skin. if you have dry skin your results should heal relatively crisp and clean and you skin should have good retention of this pigment, this means your colour boosts will need to be less frequent. Dry skin types are suitable for all techniques however if you suffer with dry skin conditions such as Eczema your results could be compromised and a consultation is recommended to assess the condition of your skin.

Normal

Skin type breakdown - If your skin is not prone to breakouts and your t-zone stays relatively hydrated but not oily then you have a normal skin type.

Suitability - Normal skin types can expect even healed results and longevity of results. If you have normal skin type but your skin is sensitive you may experience slight pinkness that can last longer than it would for other types. 'Normal' skin type does not mean that other skin types are abnormal or there is an issue, all skin types are common, in fact Combination skin is the most common skin type!

Skin types in PMU

Problematic

Skin type breakdown - The contributing factors for problematic skin may include genetics, hormones, hygiene, incorrect use of skincare products, stripping of the skin’s natural oil barrier, diet, stress, sleep patterns, medication, solar exposure and smoking. The pore or follicle swells due to the accumulation of excess oil, impurities and bacteria which forces the follicle wall to break and cause scarring.

Suitability -  If you have problematic skin we would recommend a consultation before booking a treatment to allow us to assess your skin. Alternatively, before booking you can send in an image of your skin so we can recommend the best corse of action for you.

Combination

Skin type breakdown - Combination skin really is a full combination of other skin types! If you skin feels slightly oily throughout your t-zone, your cheeks can feel normal and/or dry and you have some small and some noticeable pores, then you have combination skin.

Suitability - As those with combination skin produce oils in the t zone which is close to the brow bone you may experience slightly fading over time, it depends on how much oils your skin produces in this area. In general combination skin is suitable for all techniques but a combination brow is recommended.
